Typical gambler is a pretty sorry sight - sports, casino, horse or lotto - I don’t care.

They all think they have a “system” and one big win and they will walk away. Neither is true.

Only way to win at gambling is take opportunities as they present themselves to achieve a profit - bonuses and free plays. If you can’t play for a profit - then don’t play. Most cannot follow this rule and will justify their taking risk as the price of “entertainment” - I personally have never been entertained losing earned money - but gamblers are a different sort I guess.

The sports bettor who is wearing nice shit? You will notice they almost always exit the book immediately after placing their wagers. Yes Baz is sharp. When I go to the sports book and place a bet I leave immediately like he described, but if I go there to play Baccarat, obviously I’m there for the table action. Never understood the attraction of hanging out in a sportsbook to watch a game in general myself. Big events with a few friends on a trip - ok. Hanging out and betting the horses - sure. Djeff. I actually like hanging out at the sportsbook (Southpoint) but only do it during March Madness. You get to meet people from all over the US.

I have a lot of friends I stay in touch with, having met them at Southpoint.

I visited Texas Station years ago. It was entertaining seeing the diversity of people, mostly locals, who were “experts” on everything sports related. It was an eclectic crowd that I won’t ever forget or return to.
