<p>Apparently this has been going on for a while, so I checked my personal betting account and found this message:</p><p><em>"New customers that use Skrill(MoneyBookers) to deposit funds into an account will be automatically restricted from placing sports bets. No such restrictions apply to Casino, Games and Poker products. You will be informed by Stan James in writing in the event that the sports bet restriction is removed or relaxed. </em></p><p><em>By using Skrill(MoneyBookers) to deposit funds into your account, you agree that you will wager the entire value of the deposit on Stan James' products. In the event that you choose to withdraw funds before having wagered the entire value of the deposit, Stan James may recover from your account balance the cost incurred by Stan James of processing your deposits and withdrawals."</em></p>

Yes, they have done this in the last 3 months or so. It is worth pointing out that it only applies to new accounts, so if you have an old Stan James account you should (in theory) be able to continue to use Moneybookers to deposit for sports betting. I haven't tried this myself having been restricted there for some time.

The same rule applies to the Betpack site, which is run under the Stan James licence and has most of the same T&Cs.

A player sent me an email saying that if you deposit with Skrill-Moneybookers but don't bet your entire deposit because of the low betting limits, when you ask for a withdrawal Stan James charges a 3% commission.
