Fans are calling on ESPN to suspend, or even fire, Pat McAfee for controversial comments he made about Caitlin Clark during his show on Monday.
Clark was, once again, the biggest story in sports over the weekend. She was shoulder-checked by a Chicago Sky veteran during the Indiana Fever's clash vs. Angel Reese on Saturday. The dirty play from Chennedy Carter was all over social media.
The storyline has once again opened a dialogue surrounding Clark's fame. Part of that dialogue centers on race, and whether or not Clark's popularity is based on the fact that she's white.
McAfee addressed that claim, in addition to the argument that the entire WNBA rookie class should be applauded for helping the league grow, during his show on Monday. However, his comments took an unepxected turn when he referred to Clark as a "white b--ch."

"I would like the media people that continue to say, 'This rookie class, this rookie class, this rookie class'. Nah, just call it for what it is — there's one white bitch for the Indiana team who is a superstar," McAfee said on Monday.
Fans are calling on ESPN to take action against McAfee for his controversial comment.
"This is just completely unacceptable. Interested to see how ESPN handles it. And his entire argument is not conducive to anything going on in the #WNBA right now. Just let the women hoop," said sports broadcaster Kim Adams.
"Beyond unacceptable," said Nicole Auerbach.
"ESPN laid off 20 people to give Pat McAfee $17 million a year to produce a show geared towards people who have been asked to leave a Chili's on more than one occasion," one fan wrote on social media.
ESPN has to address this. Pat McAfee can't be going around calling Caitlin Clark a "white b--ch" on national television. Action must be taken.
