Well, pretty much yeah, and it's only the NHL not going Olympics - China Olympics still going ahead without them.

NHL saying they changed minds and opted out because virus caused too many postponed games so far, and those make up games will have to be played during Olympic break - also NHL don't like China isolation rules that could keep players stuck in China after Olympics over in isolation.

Pretty much business decision about money for NHL.

My bad, I thought the China Olympic is the one that got cancelled. I've read a lot of issues including the boycott for the said event due to human rights abuses.
