Harness racing is full of stupid examples like this.

As much as I loved going out watching harness racing - no way in hell I could seriously bet it.

These horses are racing once a week and a lot of the drivers are doing this part time. It’s like trying to bet on a bunch of amateurs at times.

Sit back - enjoy and bet 1/3/5 tri and exacta box every race or just WPS those numbers. You’ll never get rich - but you’ll make more than you ever do chasing dimes betting those 3/5 faves.

yeah i used to chart out a couple harness tracks... trotters you were way better off with huge long shots, pacers you were better off with 8-1 to 10-1 stuff... and thoroughbreds seems like you're best off with 4-1 to 5-1 stuff

If you never missed an opportunity, this was long term free money. The rate of the bet down favorite running 4 th or worse was consistently less than one in twenty.

Long term value was a given.

It’s that few are always allowed to be able to bet all such races. Life gets in the way. So somewhat hit or miss for most people. Still solid value but not free money when it’s more random.
If you had a bookie and a deal to play every race that was a bridge jumper race, you would be cut off or not even allowed to play it.

I tried harness during COVID.

I can't stomach it or figure it out
Ah man I used to hammer Yonkers Harness in NY back in 2018 2019. The jockey I won most money on and I'll never forget was Jason Bartlett

Quarter Horse racing is like betting greyhounds - only slightly less shady trainers.

Met quite a few QH owners over the years via yearly meeting in Columbus. Overall - a lot of good people. Anytime your dealing with horse owners (or any animal owner) - there are some nutcases mixed in - but overall most I’ve met are alright.

Always thought I’d like to own a couple of Standardbreds and race them on the fair circuit one day. Maybe we should buy a horse collectively at BMR and race it.

Yeah that kinda racing is too quick for me. I remember the greyhound Marathon races back in the day almost two times around the tracks. Love those because any dog can win.
