What increased restrictions?
Do they have automatic taxes on winnings?

Domestic books probably paying a lot for congressional and senate campaigns so that new laws are put in place to limit off-shore establishments and help domestic books line their pockets.

Seems to be unique to Bovada - you don’t see any other offshore books pulling out of specific states.

Perhaps they have a plan in place to go legal - or perhaps someone like Penn Gaming is gonna buy the name and they are cleaning up some messy bits of the business.

Just reading up on it - did not realize 13 states and DC now are prohibited and Massachusetts soon to be added.

Ohio is on the list - clearly not effecting anyone else. Bovada is the only site publicly to acknowledge a cease and desist and honor it.

Clearly just a response to request of the DK/FD duopoly that’s crying about losing money to offshore - while continuing to sucker in new users with a massive promo/ad spend. That will likely end by 2026 tapering off through 2025. Only need to look at Ohio casinos for a good comparison.

When casinos first opened - Columbus gave little in the way of promos - while Cleveland/Toledo gave a little better and Cincinnati was pumping out something like 15% of their revenue in free plays - all based on competition. Columbus was a solid 130 miles from the closest out of state casino - while Cincy is a short drive to Indianapolis and had multiple competitors in place. Now the promos are scarce and generally from out of state operations trying to pull Ohio dollars back in.

Won’t be long until we have legal online slots/VP here - sports are still more a novelty trying to entice $20-50 bettors to win big parlaying games/props vs betting big.

Do you suppose Bovada is complying and others aren't due to location?
Bovada = out of Canada.
The others are literally off-shore of Central Amer.

The part that I don't understand is- players can still use their account. I've been actively using them still even though they added my state to the list. It seems as though it's more an act than anything else. With that said- I'm not suggesting players continue to use them in a banned state, but they let me deposit and withdraw as well as bet with them still.
