Best Muscle Relaxer… ???

My PA prescribed me Zanaflex. It helps me sleep, but I wake up in a panic. This stems from back spasms I developed when helping my Uncle do concrete work. Obviously, compounded from lifting weights and doing landscaping work when I was younger. Any suggestions? I stopped smoking weed and eating pain killers…

Years ago it was valium (Diazepam).
Not sure doctors still prescribe it since it a "Highly Controlled" substance.

I am not sure if they still prescribe them like that. I think it was found that they have more long-term side effects even after the user stops taking them

SS the only thing I can think of is maybe talk to your doctor and let him know that you're waking up in a panic and see if there's anything else they can prescribe. I hope it gets better for you buddy

However, I know my PA is hesitant prescribing the harder stuff. Also, the anxiety and depression meds don’t help… Trazadone knocked me out, but I was a zombie the next day. Gave me RLS at times, too…

I have a lot of experience with this as many meds have different off-label benefits and what to watch for and what meds Drs will be willing to prescribe. I will shoot you a pm tomorrow as just getting ready to go to bed. If you don 't see anything by tomorrow night shoot me a reminder.
