It sucks when potentially good QBs are not developed properly. Some may have been the next Tom Brady (well maybe not him) or Aaron Rodgers but were put in a bad position early and failed.
I have zero faith in the Chicago Bears organization. I think Fields has talent but he'll turn into a bust because he's with the Bears. I hope I'm wrong.
Sometimes, even though a player is thrown to the wolves immediately (e.g. Joe Burrows) they can still peform well due to their supporting cast. This was discussed in the article. They mentioned a few names that would support Fields but I don't see them as that leveraging to help Fields.
Mahomes got a chance to sit the first year. That is a huge plus but what really helped (besides massive amount of personal talent) is he had a GREAT supporting cast. That doesn't exist in Chicago.
