I wasn't watching the game so I may have missed something. Giants down 12-15 score a TD to go up 18-15. The Play-by-Play says they went for 2 point conversion and was unsuccessful. WTF?

Washington marches down the field and gets a FG to tie.

Giants move down to the Washington 22 and turnover on downs. They don't even attempt to kick a FG.

Commanders march down the field again to kick a FG and win the game.

Did anyone see the ending of this game?

Why wouldn't the Giants at least attempt a FG in that spot? Kind of odd

I wasn’t watching the game but thought it was weird that they went for 2 instead of going up by 4. The Giants have a Loser mentality.

I thought maybe they intended to kick a PAT but the placeholder fumbled the ball. That's the only reason I can think as to why the scoreboard would show they didn't go for the PAT there.
Giants’ kicker Graham Gano got hurt on the kickoff. His replacement missed a PAT and Giants went for it on 4th down or went for two the rest of the game. Damn!!!

Bad all over the place.

College and NFL
McCarthy of my Cowboys is the absolute worst at it

He’s a baffoon when it comes to clock management and when to use his time outs

Guys that are brilliant at it like McVey, etc, can lead to an extra one or two wins per year.

You can count on the really bad ones to cost themselves a game or two per season

Really surprised McCarthy hasn’t lost his job over it before this season

Thanks for the explanation.

I would think that even in that case I would have the replacement kicker try the PAT even if he missed one. He's an NFL player, a professional. He's not there because he sucks. I would think he has a better chance of kicking a PAT than the team does of converting a 2-point play.

Who was the replacement a position player or the punter?
