Well, with the current owner the Astros were screwed. Tuckers contract is up after next year and they knew they were going to have to pay a mint to keep him. They avoided the Ohtani effect by dumping him before his contract was up.

It might make some room to resign Bregman now. But, I'm not sure Bregman is worth his asking price with the Paredes pickup.


Seiya Suzuki was originally part of the discussions. Was hoping to see him in Houston next year. Oh well.
