A generation ago, players would jump through the roof and pound beers upon hearing that news; now they cry. I wonder how Ryan Johnson reacted when told the good news, he played for Dalla Baptist for three years and he's going straight to the bigs.

The real question is how will the Stros do this year. Projected 87.5 wins.
Texas next in AL West with 85.5 wins.

Pitching looks decent. Batting might be a sore spot. Of course Alvarez is a monster but, its got to be more. Pena and Cam Smith hit very well in Spring Training. Yainer Diaz still sucks at the plate. I'm wondering how well Altuve will do in left field. His bat was not too good in ST (0.184 avg)

Astros are a class organization for pulling this off.
I really hope Cam plays out for the team. Giving up Tucker hurt.
Yes. Agree I wish they could have resigned Tucker but given the Astros history they were never going to get into one of those 10-year plus, $500 million plus some team might have to sign him for

If the Astros had to trade Tucker, they did it at the exact right time and got some real talent coming back their way in Cam Smith and a couple of others

Here’s an article predicting Tucker eventually gets somewhere in the neighborhood of 14 years and $600 million

Wow.... Tuckers a great hitter but a $604M hitter?
Stros would never pay that.

Come on Cam Smith.
