Good article thank you for posting...everyone should remember that about one hundred years ago there was no income tax or property tax etc...the more power governments have the more they take for the people it's exactly like a protection fees racket and the government is the biggest most powerful gang...

Honestly

Lincoln changed the way American citizens interact w their Government

It may or may not have 'had to be done'...personally, I feel the war was avoidable & the end of sllavery was achievable with compensation...but what came out of that era was a Wnglish mercantile economy vs the pure capitalism we had prior. And the acceptance of Government fees, taxes, rules, regs, etc on everything, so long as it was associated w a "moral or patriotic cause"

It's crazy we've declined, in liberties, so far & so quick, to merely appease our own poor & the world abroad. The middle class American has been getting held back from the true generational wealth he has earned & deserves, by the modern version of Government.
