Are these NCAA Bracket picks crazy ???

It's one of those pools with over 250 entries and no extra points for picking upsets, so after researching each school, each conference, coaching tendencies, etc etc etc, I went with these "outliers" hoping to hit more than half of them for an extra edge against the competitors.

have a lost my mind with these? (don't answer that please because it is likely a Yes)

- Marquette to the Sweet 16
- Colorado State to the Sweet 16
- Drake to the Sweet 16
- Xavier to the Sweet 16
- VCU to the Sweet 16 !!
- Ole Miss to the elite 8
- Oregon to the Final 4 !!!

i probably need to hit at least 5 of the 8 "outlier picks", maybe more, to have a shot at the CASHHHHHHH

What are your longshots that can get you to the finish line in one of the pools you are entered in which has hundreds (maybe thousands?) of entries ??

Wow. A few longer shots in there Homie. If these teams make it to the rounds shown, you'll be sitting pretty because I don't think many will have them there. GL.

the more entries in a contest, the more upsets you need to pick to separate yourself

if it's a small office pool, then you can go chalky b/c most will follow that way

the biggest gap between seeds making the final 4 is between the 1 and 2 seeds. If you dont have the one seed, you might as well pick a random team dont default to the 2 seed.

It's the Big Dance anything can happen and probably will. To take down a large pool you really have to get different but the truth is to win you have to nail the champion and just enough of the upsets right to have a chance.

every single one of you made great points in here. i basically agree with all of it, especially over the past 10-15 years or so since Butler broke through and made back to back championship games in '10 and '11 and then Wichita State broke through a few years later.

lately, i think it is 4 of the last 8 final fours, a double-digit seed has made it to the final 4.

that is pretty astounding when you think about it. that means a double digit seed has won at least four games in the tourney half of the time the last 8 years.

this year i think perhaps as many as 4 of the sweet 16 can or will be double digit seeds but they power in the top 4 seeds in each region is where they likely get stopped out and knocked out in that sweet 16 round next week.

how fun is this ?!?!?!?!!!
