If you have, what's your story?

We are this year.... Last year I let it be known that one gift we'd love to receive would be an Instant Pot. I guess everyone listened. We got 3. Yep 3 of them. Two still in the boxes. We're giving the extras to a friend and my sister-in-law.

Never got the famous Skybook coffee

Did get a bottle of Dom Perigon from BetOnline one year - accidentally got delivered to my neighbor at the time - someone called and asked how I liked my gift - said I never got it and they asked my address - told them that was the neighbor. 15 minutes later neighbor is over with a bottle apologizing saying some very pissed off gentleman had just just called them (idiot signed his phone on the delivery sheet with my name).

Never did drink the stuff - we actually left it as a gift to the person who bought our house in NC last year - stuff was probably 12 years old.

Now if they would have sent a bottle of Pappy or something else high end - that would have been cracked open - but champagne- not a fan.

Books are missing our giving gifts these days.

freeplays are easy - but not memorable.

The fact we are talking about skybook coffee still speaks volumes to the value of a unique gift.
Direct marketing from offshore books meant a lot years ago. It was competitive between them and any direct mailings always stood out. Sportsbook.com probably sent me the most and I also went to a party they had in NYC once.

I’ve gotten a few decent gifts from the US books but anything coming from offshore always seemed to mean more. Even just a calendar or sports schedules were good.

Sportsbook.com stiffed me for 18K, after they took 16K from me back in 2002-2003. SBR’s Bill Dozer tried to help me get my money to no avail. Since those charges were on a credit card, I was able to charge back 10K for fraudulent charges since they didn’t pay me when I won.

Interesting to hear that. Was with them from around 2004-2007. Never had issues getting paid.

Signed up with them originally just to get a sports pager. Didn’t even have internet in my house until 2008 so the sports pagers helped in those days. 📟
