It was either an insider at the wallet company or his wallet wasn't really "cold". He was connecting it to something. He said he was collecting air-drops to the wallet so it shows he was connecting at some frequency to something.

Two more pieces of advice:
  • Never buy a cold wallet from anywhere but the actual manufacturer. There are stories of people buying cold wallets on Amazon and they are hacked.
  • Never store all you crypto in one place, especially when its as much as this guy had. Spread it out so if you do get hacked you don't lose it all.

He said he had it in a hot wallet with them too, so he must of clicked on something and they got his seed phrase.

long term investments. slowly funding all types thru paypal, including theirs. they give 4% return on their own which beats almost any savings account.
