Between the election craziness - the attempt on Trumps life and general panic buying - I have a feeling the market is about to get stuoid high again.

Especially see this on the ammo side of things - panic buying sets in and suddenly when people see “sold out” it just feeds into continued shortages. Larger caliber stuff was just becoming regularly available at higher prices - I can see that shirking fast.

Regardless of who wins - I think we see some additional controls in place as well - in fact I can see Trump doing MORE as he has less sensitivity to public reaction than a democrat in similar position would hold. Trump passes it - he will get a pass from his supporters and doesn’t care if he pisses off party loyalist. Democrat does it - they risk alienating the middle/moderates.

Think I’m gonna add a few more to the collection - maybe I cash in come November when the panic hits frenzy. It will die back down in January - but come year end I expect to see many prices 20-35% higher than today.

What stocks to buy

RGR and SWBI are the direct trades on manufacturers but buying a manufacturer is like buying a tobacco company 30 years ago. Mired in lawsuits - bad publicity. I don’t see the madness being buying up everything - just over reaction of fears stuff might be banned again - or harder to find (scarcity = higher prices).

If looking to play the trade - might be better to look for some incremental gains in places like TSCO.

Tractor Supply and a few other sporting good stores make a nice niche business of selling guns and ammo in store and more importantly online. I think retailers are gonna benefit most here - as the margins will improve and they can dump inventory and secondly a lot of the manufacturers make guns only but private label their ammo (someone else makes it for them - they just allow names to be used).

I keep plenty of ammo on hand. My brother has been to several going out of business sales, the last 25 years and buys up all the ammo they have, if he thinks he is getting a bargain. He has a basement full. So thankfully, I'm good on ammo.

What can you say about this ammo vending machine, DJ?

Seems like a very Texas thing to do.

Reality is we don’t have a gun control issue in the USA - we have an idiot control problem. Too many idiots protected from themselves and allowed to walk around when their own stupidity would have saw them dead long ago prior generations.

A machine like this is simply giving people access to the same product they can acquire at WalMart - but without the hassle of having to go through a mega store and then having to find an employee with a key to the case.

We have machines that sell lotto tickets - no issues with ID verification there - same protocols should be in place with these machines. Cigarette vending machines were in every bar/bowling alley for decades dispensing an “age controlled” product - again no major issues. Only reason they went away is lack of demand - not age restriction issues.

So step 3 is VERIFY ID.

That has to be just a scan of your license right? I wonder if the small camera on top of the machine confirms that the ID matches the person's face buying the ammo? If not, I guess anyone with someone else's ID could buy ammo.

Has anyone used one of these yet? And how does the ID verification work?

I see no issues about it.. only thing is hopefully, they will only allow licensed gun owners to make the purchase.
