Anyone a better gambler when they’re losing

I think when people lose they focus harder and are more selective with their plays so yes, they become a better gambler. At least in their technique used to pick plays.

The problem is, if they shift into that mode and continue to lose, then they get "worse" since they begin to second-guess themselves and spiral down with every loss.

If someone is a “better” gambler - they don’t lose to begin with.

Problem is many are action junkies and chasers. They lose - they try and chase their way to break even and dig a deeper hole. They win and they try to make a “big score” only to lose back that initial win and inevitably begin chasing only to lose again.

Smart gamblers have a plan going in and follow it - at least that’s what I’ve been told.

Know your markets - know your price points and keep a reserve in case something you like breaks below those points - while ensuring you have a sufficient reserve for opportunities tomorrow.

This is exactly what has happened to me the last 10 months overall.

Whether you win or lose, your quality of gambling should be the same.

If you are making positive EV plays, then you'll eventuall get what you deserve.

Positive EV or not, have a realistic expectation, then keep it whether you go on a win streak or a losing streak.

I think I've seen more gamblers get ruined because of a win streak they've had than I've seen get ruined because of a losing streak.

In both cases, emotions tend to short circuit rational thinking.

It's a tale as old as time.
