Any advantage to odd/even moneyline totals?

Is it really a 50/50 bet proposition or is there a strategy? It just doesn’t feel as 50/50 as red/black on the roulette table. I have a free bet on the SF/DAL game and I just took odd for zero particular reasons. Just wondering if it comes up again is it any strategy to it.

I think you're talking about the total score of the game.

Obviously the price matters, but odd is usually the way to go.

Of the top five most frequent game totals, 4 of them are odd numbers. Of the top 8 total scores, 6 of them are odd numbers.

The most frequent margins of victory are 3 and 7. Any game ending with either of those margins of victory will be an odd number total score.

So I say odd is most often the way to go if we are talking about the Total score of the game.

Of course price matters and individual capping could alter the expectation, slightly.

But for the most part, and all prices being equal, I'd go with odd.

Yes. It is game total. It was -115 on both sides. I feel better now even though it doesn’t guarantee me a win. Thanks for the information KVB. I knew you would have the stats to back it up.
