We all know how we could be living on easy street since we were pretty much among the select few who heard of crypto long before it became mainstream.

I got booted from Gemini several years back for using them for suspicion of gambling purposes, or something worded along those lines (shocking I know). For grins I downloaded the app just to see if I was still banned.

I could actually log into my old account but when I went to click on BTC or ETH there was no “buy” button. So for what I was using it for it’s pretty much pointless.

What I noticed was this. Out of the 77 times I bought BTC on Gemini over the life of my account - the average price of BTC each time I bought was just under $7k 😂😂😂.

If I’d have bought $300 worth of BTC during every one of those 77 purchases (which is probably about right, perhaps even more) at that average price and held I’d be sitting on about 3.3 BTC today if my math is right.

But who knew, right??

As my friends @samsncharge99 and @JDS have talked about when we wax poetic about the history of crypto, we can’t drive ourselves crazy looking back at the fact we were all sitting on a gold mine.

This probably isn’t the first thread I’ve made regarding this subject lol.

Just happed upon the fact the average price was so low on all my purchases relative to the BTC price today.

Just wish I wasn’t such a short-sidedness guy for a lot of years of my life. It was alway difficult to see the long-term big picture. Too busy chasing the action and instant gratification/rush.

I would never want those stats. I wouldnt even research. Why torture yourself
I told him the exact same thing this morning “don’t torture yourself”. He was on one of his all night gambling binges last night that worked out for him yet again & couldn’t sleep so I guess he couldn’t help himself to research this lol, Jay is a well oiled machine.

Lost two small parlays ($80 total losses earlier in the evening ). Only made one more play thankfully. Researched it pretty well and luckily choose wisely. Cashed out after it won fairly easily ($185 winnings). Didn’t continue to chase the dragon.

Couldn’t sleep because I made a poor choice of eating dinner about 10 pm. Never a good idea. Couldn’t sleep for 💩

Hey @BigJay go to bed man it’s time to rest that very active brain of yours. I’m off to work back in the electrical game charging $40 an hour 6 hour days 4 days a week is all I can really manage these days at my age. The money is decent though. I envy your gambling hustle Jay, I was once in your shoes but couldn’t sustain those good fortunes & had to cut my losses. Back to the grind & no more sugar mama. 😎

when you drink yourself to sleep every night, you don't have to worry about staying away with those thoughts. I sleep easy every night peacefully

So back then we all thought, this crypto thing won't go anywhere so we sold.
Are we thinking the same thing now or do we believe it will continue to climb in the future?

I say that because, we can learn from our prior "mistakes" (not really mistakes - more like lack of experience).

I keep some crypto for long-term just in hopes it contnues to climb like it has over the last 5-6 years. If it tanks and goes to zero, OK. It's a small investment and was worth the risk. But, I believe it will double or more over the next 5-6 years.
