He'll beat the 61 by Maris.
He's on a pace for 65-66. Good players get even more focused in September. The only issue will be if the Yankees are so far ahead of others, they sit him more frequently to rest for the playoffs.

If he hits 62-plus it will be the non-steroid record

There should be an asterisk *

I always wonder how history will refer to the 1990s baseball era and the PEDs. I know it's been 20+ years and maybe everything is set in stone as is (i.e. no asterisk on those records). But, as those records get broken, I'm guessing they will always be referred to as the PED era. I doubt that will ever go away, right?

Even if judge isn't on steroids he's 280 pounds of muscle which is basically the same as being roided. Unless he hits 80 i'm not impressed. If tyson fury knocked out a 140 pounder nobody would be kissing his ass. Same scenario here guy has massive advantages.

what pissed me off the most about the steroid era or the PED era was baseball more than any other is a Numbers-based game. I remember memorizing some of those incredible records/numbers back in the day from a game it was more than 100 years old. And the players and complicit commissioners from the PED era jacked with the record books so badly many of those numbers are irrelevant now. Skewed forever

54 would be my guess

Things get tighter in September/ October

Gotta feel for Maris. I had the opportunity to meet him as a kid. He was a North Dakota boy, went to St Louis after NYY time, Gussie Busch LOVED him so much he gave him the Gainesville area Budweiser distributorship.

Roger died in 85 or 86, the kids continued the operation till A-B terminated them for supposedly repacking a few 'outdated' cans of beer into a repacked package. August Busch III then gave the territory to a family member lol

The case went to court and Maris' family won a $350 MILLION verdict versus A-B!!!
