The Week 17 game is irrelevant for the Seahawks. They need a Rams loss to the Cardinals in Week 17 and then a Seahawks win over the Rams in Week 18 would win them the division. The Seahawks Week 17 game against the Bears doesn't change anything so the Seahawks ought to pull as many starters as they can. (That's not to say they will). The Bears SHOULD be favourites on Thursday. The Seahawks currently show as 3½ favourites. I suspect the line will change drastically. Just a heads-up.

Another 'worthless gem for you jjgold:

Buffalo Bills play two games against 'hopeless division opponents' weeks 16 and 17. They coasted this first game but half the defense was shelved.

Now the line is -10 instead of -14 and defense will be back. I think Bills win by 24, with at least one pick 6 off of Aaron Rogers.

I love reading the insight here, Castelion.

We are already in the most anticipated moments of football.

Thank you sir. Great info.
Helps everyone read the game better.

Technically there is a remote chance of the Seahawks winning the NFC West with a Rams win over the Cardinals and a Seahawks win over the Bears. However, this would depend on 11 other outcomes affecting strength of victory schedules with the Seahawks needing at least 10 of the 11 results to go in their favour.

They would need 10 or all 11 of the following:
2 Bills losses, 2 Broncos victories, 2 Dolphins victories, 2 49ers losses, a Packers victory over the Saints, a Packers victory over the Vikings, and a Bears victory over the Packers. Possible but extremely unlikely. A binomial calculator says the chance of winning at least 10 out of 11 coin flips is 0.586%.

I'd still rest key players.

Seattle has a ZERO chance of winning NFC West.

The Rams are going to crush the Cardinals like a bug to revenge their 41-10 loss to them in the beginning of the year.

So, it doesn't matter what the hell Seattle does in the next two weeks. They are out of the playoffs this Sunday.

End of story.

As a Rams fan I hope they win Saturday and results Sunday clinch the division 1 game early, but i'm not counting on it. I'm surprised the Seahawks played their starters. I'm not surprised those starters looked a little off form.

As a side note the Bears looked horrendously disorganised. It's amazing how they can add 2 top 10 overall picks to their offense and still get worse.

Well, you were somewhat right and it ended up costing me a LOT of money.

Your post made me rethink what I was going to bet and I ultimlately bet a WHOLE lot less than I originally intended. But, it's also because 2 out of 3 NFL favorites covered already today and therefore it was less likely that the Rams would cover as well.

It was a sweat for the whole freaking game, but the Rams leading by 10 at half time made it a bit easier to watch since Sean McVay's record when leading at half time is something like whatever wins and maybe only 1 or 2 losses. That blocked extra point by the Cardinals was HUGE.

I wasn't right. I thought the Seahawks would rest starters and the line would move towards the Bears. Worst case I thought the line would stay at 3½. I was wrong. That the Bears covered the spread was just luck.

I thought the Rams would struggle with the Cardinals. The Rams defense has struggled with edge containment all season and Murray has previously had a lot of success against them when he's been healthy. I wouldn't have bet the Rams -6½, but I wouldn't have advised against it either.

I'm pretty sure the Rams will sit starters in Week 18. McVay has done that in the past.
