So I was 18 stationed in Groton Connecticut. Just out of boot camp Meet a couple of the Guys in the Barracks they say hey wanna go to the dog Races. Never knew dogs raced so
. I think we either went to NH or stayed in Conn. But we made it in halfway thru the races. they explained to me how it worked I watched 2 races then said f*** it I put 40$ on a Trifecta ...didn't know that's what it was as I was going to bet three dogs seperatley and the way I said it to the Cashier was I guess it was a Trifecta it was 3 Dawg dogs. The fucker won 1200.00. I went up not knowing what I won ...Lady said shit man. your lucky day today . Ended up taking the guys out to a place called Hidden Valley Social Club..everyone was happy that night I won lol

Always bet some in high school with friends/family. Nothing serious.

Went to Vegas before I should have (my much older brother and I look a lot alike - if you know what I mean) and played blackjack for 18 hours straight. Won a few hundred and went to the sportsbook and put it all on a basketball game and lost. I was still hooked. Went back every year. BJ, Craps, sportsbook. That's about it.
