I had turned it off by then. Excellent point obviously as most coaches would just run a simple play up the middle - but did someone get hurt during that last drive? Just curious

No - nobody got hurt on that play, but it’s just stupid - and it happens all the time and happens the opposite way also. Teams up by 21+ with less than 4 minutes left running deep routes with their franchise tagged QB’s throwing to their star WR’s. Or pushing their exhausted RB’s who have played every offensive snap up the middle for a punishing 2 yards…..
WHY?!?! Why run the risk? At a certain point (like last night) it’s mathematically impossible to win, or lose. I understand the “never say die” attitude, but especially in such a physically demanding game like football, you need all the rest and time off you can get.

You’re paying guys who sit on the bench suited up all game and never play - PUT THEM IN! Make them earn that $$$$$!!!!!

I thought Dan Marino was the best pure passer that I have ever seen. The playoff game against San Diego and Dan Fouts , was the most exciting game I have ever seen. They had a top 3 offense and a defense that couldn't stop anything.
The teams of the late 80's and 90's was pretty decent overall.
