Explained it very well in his thread but he is being completely unreasonableI'm not sure why @Franz555 thread has been locked up. If it's the arguments he was having with Wager about some posts in the in-game threads, that's kind of nuts. I would have expected moderators, as keepers of the forum, would be a little more hard-skinned about being called out.
Although I did not see the posts Franz was referencing, I can imagine what they were like to have caused his response. It's unfortunate that our society has "normalized" some of the BS that is spewed regarding murders and racism. I realize this is a forum so just about anything goes, but it seems the limits on what should be remotely acceptable have become blurred or are being moved to such extremes as to be non-existant. I choose to ignore those threads/posts because I cannot control them. It doesn't mean they don't disgust me when I do see them because they do.
Finally, I understand that moderating is a difficult job. There are tough calls to make but, locking up Franz's thead for the posts I can see, seems overblown. If there is more to this than I can see, I would love to understand it better.
Sometimes you seem to be more lenient towards one side of the spectrum than the other. As a moderator, you should be as nuetral as possible. I realize it is difficult to compartmentalize your personal beliefs but, Franz's comments in his thread were no different than others you've allowed without repurcussions.Explained it very well in his thread but he is being completely unreasonable
I will go over it once more….
We do not remove or move every single political post as we don’t like to be overbearing
If a member slips in a political comment once in a while, we will usually leave it, but if it becomes repetitive, yes, we will move them
The member in question never makes political posts, so we let the single post slide
Keep in mind this is the case no matter what side or opinion an unmoved post relates to
Yet this single post was picked out of a 250-post thread
With his follow up comments, it’s obvious Franz did not like that in particular because of HIS OWN political opinions
And I reiterate & stress the fact that we have left many posts that Franz would be in favor of, some made by yourself Tanko, which he had absolutely no problem with
Again, we give everyone a pass occasionally to slip something in
One member cannot be hypocritical by picking & choosing what they believe should stand or be removed
Lastly, Franz’s thread was locked because he said he was leaving & to move in from further drama in the thread
Tank do I need to pull up several posts you made yourself criticizing Trump and everything going on that we left in the Main form?Sometimes you seem to be more lenient towards one side of the spectrum than the other. As a moderator, you should be as nuetral as possible. I realize it is difficult to compartmentalize your personal beliefs but, Franz's comments in his thread were no different than others you've allowed without repurcussions.
Also, in general, you frequently seem to turn things into a "political opinion" issue even when they are not. Its like a default used as a hammer. Sure, everything can be made politcal but, some issues are just moral and ethical comments, not political. I'm not referring to the comments in Franz's thread. This is just a general observation.
I know moderating is tough, but in my opinion I think this is an over-reaction.
Indeed, it was an overreactionI know moderating is tough, but in my opinion I think this is an over-reaction.
