Slow pay him with excuses. The one thing I could never understand is a person with an "excuse" when it comes to paying. It doesn't matter what happens, a death, being sick, literally anything doesn't matter, it takes one click of a button to send a payment. There should never ever be an excuse if you are supposed to pay someone. Unless you are personally in an ICU unit and can't physically make the payment ,that is the only excuse, any other excuse is just stringing the other party along.
