Can you count the number of people in this picture who will die when the train passes?
I count 8.
It is a huge tourist spot and about once or twice a year a tourist gets stupid and either gets hit or does something to close it down for a few days. The train comes 4-5 times a day and they move everyone off the tracks but the train comes very very close to you.

It is very normal here for people to get sentenced to death for selling large amounts of drugs and drug trafficking around the borders here. Very common

It's not just drugs. I have worked for several nutritional companies. We hear of some times when people at nutritional companies in China produce supplements that end up killing people. The penalty for that is death.
Here in the US nutritional companies have put out products that end up killing people but they get relatively light sentences.
Let me see if I can find relevant articles.

China executes 2 over tainted milk scandal

China executed two people sentenced to death in a scheme to water down infant formula with an industrial chemical that left at least six children dead and sickened more than 300,000.

China executed a dairy farmer and a milk salesman Tuesday, the only two people sentenced to death in a scheme to water down infant formula with an industrial chemical that left at least six children dead and sickened more than 300,000.

The contamination of the milk powder with melamine was one of China's worst-ever food safety scandals, and Beijing is eager to prove it has responded swiftly and comprehensively to eliminate the problem — one in a string of food safety scares. When the scandal came to light in September 2008, there were accusations that the government had prevented the news from breaking until after the Olympic Games in Beijing ended.

Dairy farmers and the middlemen involved in the scam conspired to increase profits by watering down milk and milk products before they sold it, fooling inspectors testing for protein content by adding melamine — used in the manufacture of plastics and fertilizers. Melamine, like protein, is high in nitrogen.

China is serious about this stuff. Seems like death penalty is common over there...

This is really sad and scary. Last night, the news said there were already 30 deaths. One of the captured scenes on the bridge. .😢

A Norwegian man has been deported from Việt Nam after smashing a car window in Hà Nội while hallucinating from smoking cannabis offered by a 'stranger'.

Wow! That seemed to last forever. I've been in several earthquakes when I lived in California and some were of that strength but none ever lasted that long.

It's sad to hear about so many deaths. I hadn't heard anything about deaths from my friends in Cebu so I figured it wasn't too bad. I wonder if these deaths happened in weak structures.
