To be honest I really had no idea who they were until maybe 7 or 8 years ago and accidentally bought their 1st album. I was surprised to find I liked just about every song.
I guess I might have heard them on the radio but just never paid attention till much later. I am like that about most things like movies,books, and music. I never feel an urgency to see or hear something new. If its good I know I will get around to it eventually.Why put a time stamp on what may enrich you ?

Hey ... at least he knows what an album is. Maybe he bought a storage locker's contents, or a box of crap at a garage sale. I don't have any recorded coldplay, but they are alright.

Always thought of them similar to Nickelback - with a lot of people walking around thinking it’s the fashionable thing to do hating on them because they have catchy pop songs and a lot of fans who aren’t “diehards” - just casual fans.

Personally - I like a few less their songs. Again - catchy, well written and masterfully produced. They are a bit “polished” - but not everyone can sound like some jam band. Why people hate on someone who is good at what they do and successful is beyond me. Plenty of no talent pop “stars” who get none of the hate they deserve. You don’t have to love every act out there - but leave the hate for U2 and other deserving acts.
