Why the 2025 ASEAN Women’s Championship Moved from Indonesia to Vietnam
Exco PSSI member Arya Sinulingga has revealed the reason behind the cancellation of Indonesia’s hosting of the 2025 ASEAN Women’s Championship.
The main reason for the switch is a scheduling conflict with another major event: the 2025 ASEAN U-16 Women’s Championship. Arya explained that while the AFF had originally proposed Indonesia as the host for both tournaments, the packed schedule in August led to a request to move the ASEAN Women’s Championship to May.
However, this proposal was declined by the AFF, which led to Vietnam being chosen as the new host for the tournament.
This marks another chapter in Vietnam’s growing prominence as a key football host in Southeast Asia!
