|June 8, 1972, one of the most iconic photographs of the horror of the Vietnam war was taken of Phan Kim Phúc, a 9 y/o Vietnamese girl, running away naked after being severely burned on her back by a napalm attack. The photograph appeared on the front page of the New York Times four days later and had a dramatic impact across the world. She is still alive today in Canada.
